Shipping Bar support

Something not working? Let's fix it.

Start with the answers below — they cover most of what people write in about. If none of them match, we will look at your store ourselves.

Common fixes

Written for Codofaz Shipping Bar. If your problem is not here, send us your store address and what you are seeing, and we will take it from there.

The bar is not showing on my storefront

Check four things, in this order. First, the bar is Active, not Draft. Second, the app embed is on: press “Turn on the app embed” on the app's Home page, or go to Online Store, Themes, Customize, App embeds, switch on “Free shipping bar” and save. Third, the bar's rules are not excluding you: a page, country, device, customer, schedule or currency rule can hide it from your own visit. Fourth, if you closed the bar yourself, it may be remembering that — clear your browser's site data or use a private window.

The bar disappeared after I reinstalled the app

Reinstalling gives the app a new identity, and the embed saved in your theme still points at the old one. Open the theme editor, switch the “Free shipping bar” embed off and on again, and save.

A bar I had running was switched to draft

That happens when your plan allows fewer live bars than you were running, for example after moving from Pro to Free. Nothing is deleted: the extra bars keep every setting, and the app lists them in a notice. Turn them back on once you have room.

The bar says free shipping, but checkout still charges for it

The bar shows progress; it does not change what a shopper pays. Free shipping itself comes from Shopify: add a free shipping rate with a minimum order price in Settings, Shipping and delivery, or create a free shipping discount, using the same amount as your bar's goal.

The bar shows the wrong amount

Each bar measures the cart total either after discounts or before them, so check which one you picked under Goal. Neither figure includes shipping. If you sell in several currencies, keep “Convert the goal to the buyer's currency” on; with it off, only shoppers buying in the currency you picked see the bar.

The bar does not update when I add to cart

It should, on any theme, including ones that do not announce cart changes. If yours does not, send us your store address and the theme name — this is the kind of bug we fix quickly, and we would rather hear about it than have you work around it.

The colours are hard to read

Every design ships with readable colour pairings, but a custom colour can undo that. The editor shows a “Low contrast against the background” warning while you are still choosing, so pick a darker or lighter shade until it goes away.

The bar covers my header, or I want it somewhere else

Open the bar, go to Visibility, then Placement. Choose Below the site header to sit under your menu, Bottom of the page for a strip at the foot of the window, or turn off Sticky so the bar scrolls away with the page. Manual placement puts it exactly where you add the “Free shipping bar (inline)” block in the theme editor.

I am moving to a new theme

Switch the app embed on in the new theme before you publish it, and add the inline block again if you use manual placement. Your bars are stored with your shop, not with the theme, so nothing needs rebuilding.

Reporting a storefront problem

Four things get an answer fastest:

  • Your store address, so we can look at the same page you are
  • The name of your theme
  • What you expected, and what appeared instead
  • A screenshot, if the problem is something you can see
